COLUMBUS - The No. 19 Columbus State University softball team lost to No. 2 University of North Georgia 2-12 in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championship on Saturday, May 6 at Cougar Field, becoming the 2023 Runner-Ups. The Cougars fall to 44-14 and the Nighthawks improve to 54-6.
North Georgia out hit Columbus State 14-2 on Saturday, scoring six runs in the top of the first inning thanks to three home runs.
Hannah Rose Corbin smacked a two-run homer in the bottom of the inning to put CSU on the board, but unfortunately for the Cougars, that was all they could produce.
UNG added one more run in the second and CSU reliever
Jessica Lopez was able to hold the Nighthawks from scoring until they tallied five more runs in the top of the fifth.Â
Corbin and
Laura Harris recorded the only hits for CSU.
Haylee Folds received the loss on the mound and drops to 10-3.

Elyse Ambrose were named to the PBC All-Tournament Team.Â
