COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University women's basketball team opened up Peach Belt Conference play with a 102-77 victory over Georgia College & State University Wednesday night in the Lumpkin Center. The Cougars improve to 5-4 (1-0 PBC) and the Bobcats fall to 6-5 (0-1 PBC).
The Lady Cougars went on a 15-0 run to start the first quarter.
Bre'lyn Snipes lead the way with 18 points, shooting 60 percent (6-10) from the field and was perfect from behind the arc and the free-throw line.
Four other Lady Cougars scored in double digits including
Olonna Rawls (14),
Letiya Reeves (13),
Amber Abusbeih (11), and
Olivia West (10).
As a team, Columbus State was 48.7 percent (37-76) from field goal range, 50 percent (15-30) from the three point line, and 76.5 percent (13-17) from the charity stripe.
