COLUMBUS – As the to-seeded team in the Peach Belt Conference Women's Soccer Tournament, the No. 2-ranked Columbus State Women's Soccer team is set to host Georgia College on Friday night at the Walden Soccer Complex. In addition, the program will be playing host to both of Friday's semifinals and the championship match on Sunday.
The Lady Cougars (17-0-1) opened the tournament with a convincing 9-2 win over USC Beaufort (S.C.) and will take on the fourth-seeded Bobcats (9-6-3) at 5 p.m. ET in the first of two semifinal bouts.
During the regular season, CSU hosted GCSU in Columbus and defeated the Bobcats with a 4-0 victory at the Walden Soccer Complex. The Bobcats head to the semifinals after rallying for a 2-1 win over fifth-seeded Clayton State (Ga.).
Later Friday, the second semifinal match between second-seeded North Georgia (11-3-2) and third-seeded Flagler (8-2-5) is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET.
Winners of both semifinal matches will meet in Sunday's championship match at 1 p.m. ET. The tournament victor will capture the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division II national tournament, which begins on Nov. 22.
Tickets are $10 per person and must be
purchased in advance. Children ages five and under, and students with a valid PBC school ID receive free admission. All games of the PBC Tournament will be available via
pay-per-view. Fans can follow along via
