COLUMBUS – The top-seeded and second-ranked Columbus State Women's Soccer team is set looking to capture the program's 10th Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championship title on Sunday against third-seeded Flagler (Fla.).
The Lady Cougars (18-0-1) moved on through to the championship match set for 1 p.m. ET at the Walden Soccer Complex in Columbus. As for the Saints, they took down Lander (S.C.) in the quarters and upset second-seeded North Georgia on Friday night in a penalty shootout after drawing 2-2 in double-overtime.
During the regular season, CSU traveled to St. Augustine, Fla. and beat Flagler 2-1. In 2022, both teams met in the PBC Championship match with CSU hosting at the Walden Soccer Complex. Flagler took the tournament crown in 2022 with a 1-0 win, but the Lady Cougars exacted revenge in the Southeast Regional Championship knocking the Saints out in penalties.
Sunday's match will undoubtedly be electric with NCAA Division II's top-ranked scoring offense in Columbus State clashing with a Flagler side that is led by the nation's leading scorer in Andrea Fernandez who has netted 22 goals this season. Kick is set for 1 p.m. ET from the Walden Soccer Complex.
