MBB Travels to Georgia College for PBC Opener

Cougars tip-off at 3:30 p.m. ET in Milledgeville

COLUMBUS – Columbus State Men's Basketball opens Peach Belt Conference play at Georgia College on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Cougars (6-1, 0-0 PBC) head to Milledgeville, Ga. to take on the Bobcats (3-4, 0-0 PBC) in the Centennial Center at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. Columbus State holds a 32-22 record against Georgia College and has won the last four meetings.
 
Scouting the Bobcats
 
Georgia College is on a two-game winning streak with the Bobcats coming off a 91-80 win at Southern Wesleyan (S.C.). GCSU opened the season with a three-game skid before improving with three wins.
 
The Bobcats average 73.0 points per game and are shooting for 39.5% from the field, 29.2% from three, and 70.4% from the foul line. Zyair Greene leads the way with an average of 19.8 points per game while shooting for 48.1% from the field.
 
Tony Carpio leads the rebounding efforts with a 6.6 average while Khalil Green averages 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals to lead the team. Ryan Aquino is in his first season at the helm of the program.
 
Previewing the Cougars
 
Columbus State is riding a four-game winning streak and looks to continue the positive form into conference play on Saturday afternoon. The Cougars are coming off an 83-74 comeback victory versus Francis Marion (S.C.) on Tuesday night.
 
Jarrett Adderton continues to be the offensive engine that leads the Cougars, averaging 21.1 points per game. As a team, CSU averages 81.0 points per game with an 8.9 scoring margin. In addition to Adderton, Jehloni James and Rakeim Gary are the other two in double figure scoring. James averages 15.4 points per game followed by Gary's average of 10.6 points per game.
 
Roman Son dishes out an average of 3.9 assists followed by Gary with 3.6 and Wisdom Uboh with 3.0 assists per game. Off the glass, James averages 6.1 rebounds followed by Adderton with 5.4 rebounds per contest.
