Cougar Softball Debuts 2024 Season at the Eagle Classic

The Columbus State softball team will play a total of four games during their time at Daytona Beach.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The No. 23 Columbus State University softball team will begin their 2024 campaign with the Eagle Classic, hosted by Embry-Riddle, in Daytona Beach. The Cougars will play four games at the Radiology Associates Field between Friday, Feb. 2, and Sunday, Feb. 4. Participating teams include Embry-Riddle, Chadron State, Florida Tech, Georgia Southwestern, Columbus State, and Rollins College.

The Cougars will start the Eagle Classic playing Florida Tech on Friday, Feb 2 at 6 p.m. The Panthers finished the 2023 season 28-22 overall and 16-4 in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC). Before taking on the Cougars, Florida Tech will face a well-known opponent in the PBC, Georgia Southwestern, to begin their run in the Eagle Classic.

On Saturday, Feb. 3, Columbus State will begin the day with Rollins at 1 p.m. Last season, Rollins College finished the year 32-17 overall and 16-14 in the SSC. To close the day on Saturday, CSU will face Embry-Riddle at 6 p.m. The Embry-Riddle Eagles finished the 2023 season 28-22 overall and 15-15 in the SSC. 

Columbus State will meet Rollins College for the second time on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 11 a.m. to wrap up the Eagle Classic.
