INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The No. 6 Columbus State men's tennis team defeated No. 7 University of Indianapolis Friday afternoon in the quarterfinal round of the ITA Indoor National Championship hosted by UIndy. The Cougars won 4-3 and advance to the semifinal round on Saturday.

Doubles

• UIndy took the doubles point as the #1 and #2 doubles teams defeated CSU
• Andreas Sandrone and Felix Steen lost 7-6 in #1 doubles
• Thomas Cardona and Daniel Hammond lost 6-3 in #2 doubles
• Camino Cano and Justin Welz's match in #3 doubles was unfinished 

Singles

• Justin Welz won in three sets in the #2 spot 6-2, 3-6, 6-4
• In #3 singles, Thomas Cardona won 3-6, 6-3, 6-1
• Daniel Hammond also won in three sets in #4 singles 6-1, 4-6, 6-2
• Andreas Sandrone won 1-6, 7-5, 6-2 in the #6 spot

The Cougars advance to the semifinal round on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 5:30 p.m. CSU will play the winner of Barry University and Wayne State University.
