Women's Basketball Falls at Flagler, 61-77

Columbus State drops road game to Flagler College, snapping their four-game win streak.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The Columbus State University women's basketball team dropped their Wednesday night road contest to Flagler College 61-77. With the loss, Columbus State loses their four-game winning streak and falls to 14-9 overall (10-5 PBC). With the win, Flagler College improves to 11-14 overall (6-9 PBC). 

After a competitive first half, Flagler College dominated the second half to defeat Columbus State. The Lady Cougars trailed the Saints by three at the half (32-35), but Flagler scored 42 points in the second half, while Columbus State only managed 29.

Letiya Reeves led the team with 14 points, two defensive rebounds, and two assists. Olonna Rawls scored 12 points for the Lady Cougars, followed by Bre'lyn Snipes, who added 11 points. 

Columbus State shot 33.3 percent from the field, only 18.5 percent from three-point range, and 80.0 percent from the charity stripe. As a team, the Lady Cougars also had 14 steals and 31 rebounds on the night.

The women's basketball team will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 24, as they travel to Greenwood, S.C., for a matchup with Lander University at 1:30 p.m.
