GREENWOOD, S.C. - The Columbus State women's basketball team defeated Lander University 69-59 Saturday afternoon on the road. The Lady Cougars improve to 15-9 (11-5 PBC) and the Bearcats fall to 16-10 (9-7 PBC).
Columbus State took an early 20-12 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. The Lady Cougars outscored the Bearcats in each quarter, besides the fourth, to take the road win upset.
Jasmine Rai Stevens led CSU with 16 points and
Bre'lyn Snipes recorded a double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
Letiya Reeves tallied 11 points and
Olonna Rawls and
Olivia West each recorded nine.
Columbus State shot 75 percent from the free-throw line, 46.4 percent from the field and 31.3 percent from the three-point line.
