Women's Basketball Falls to Augusta 51-65

The Lady Cougars' four-game win streak is snapped with a road loss to the Jaguars.

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Columbus State University women's basketball team dropped an away game to Peach Belt Conference opponent Augusta University 51-65 Saturday afternoon. The Lady Cougars fall to 10-8 (6-4 PBC), and the Jaguars improve to 14-6 (8-2 PBC). 

Columbus State controlled the first half of play, holding Augusta to 20 points while scoring 26. After halftime, however, the Jaguars came out of the locker room hot, outscoring the Lady Cougars by 45-25, snapping CSU's four-game win streak. 

Two Jaguars for Augusta had 20-point performances, which contributed significantly to the team's victory. 

Olivia West led the way for Columbus State with 11 points, netting 3-of-4 three-pointers. She was also one of the team's top rebounders, with Jasmine Rai Stevens, who both had six. 

Letiya Reeves (11) and Amber Abusbeih (10) were the other Lady Cougars to make it in double figures. Bre'lyn Snipes and Simone Lett each tallied seven points off the bench for Columbus State.

As a team, Columbus State was 29.4 percent (15-51) from the field, 31.3 percent (5-16) from the three-point line, and 88.9 percent (16-18) from the free throw line.
