Women's Basketball Downs GSW at Home

The Lady Cougars defeated the Hurricanes 59-55.

COLUMBUS - Columbus State University's women's basketball team ended Georgia Southwestern State University's eight-game winning run at home Wednesday night, beating the Hurricanes by four. The Cougars improved to 11-8 overall (7-4 PBC) with the win, while the Hurricanes fell to 16-3 (9-2 PBC).

Offensively, two Lady Cougars had breakout performances, topped by Letiya Reeves' 17 points and four rebounds. Olonna Rawls finished just behind her with 16 points and eight rebounds.

The Lady Cougars scored 25 points off the bench and 19 points in fast breaks. As a team, CSU shot 34.5 percent (20-58) from field goal range, 36.8 percent (7-19) from the three-point line, and 80.0 percent (12-15) from the free throw line.
