Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University softball team went 0-2 on the first day of the Red-White-Blue Classic hosted by CSU at Cougar Field. The Cougars are now 2-6 on the season.

Game 1: Columbus State 3 Lenoir-Rhyne 7

• The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the first inning with an RBI ground out from Brooke Miller, scoring Caitlyn Canady
• After four scoreless innings, Lenoir-Rhyne scored seven runs from two home runs and three singles in the fifth inning to take a 7-1 lead
• Kenzie Bayer hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to minimize LRU's lead to 7-3
• Haylee Folds recorded the loss inside the circle, falling to 2-2
• Ansley Collins led the Cougar offense with two hits 

Game 2: Columbus State 3 Union 5

• The Cougars scored three runs in the bottom of the first, starting with Collins hitting an RBI single to score Canady
• Bayer then reached on an error by Union's shortstop, plating Lindsey Patton
• Laura Harris ripped an RBI single to center field, scoring Collins
• Union scored one run in the fifth off of a sacrifice fly, then scored four runs off of two doubles, a sacrifice fly and a bases loaded walk in the seventh to make it 5-3
• Patton led CSU with three hits and Canady, Harris and Nova Wright each tallied two hits
• Khloe Shears received the loss inside the circle, falling to 0-2

The Cougars will be back in action on Sunday, Feb. 11 against Georgia College and Tuskegee University at Cougar Field.
