Bayer Tabbed PBC Player of the Week

Kenzie Bayer earns PBC Player of the Week following her outstanding performance against Lander University.

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Peach Belt Conference announced Columbus State softball's Kenzie Bayer as the PBC Player of the Week on Monday, March 11.

The senior from Marbury, Ala., went 6-for-7 at the plate, hitting .857 with a 2.000 slugging percentage and .909 on-base percentage in the Cougars weekend series at Lander University. The slugger tallied two home runs, six RBIs, and two doubles across all three games.

Bayer set multiple season highs on the weekend, including hitting one home run and two doubles and driving in five RBIs with two runs scored in just one game during Saturday's 12-8 win against the Bearcats.

The senior is in multiple leader categories for the conference, including sixth for home runs (6). She ranks fifth with a .776 slugging percentage and fifth with a 1.242 OPS.

Bayer and the Cougars will be back in action Wednesday, March 13, at Cougar Field, starting at 3 p.m., in a double-header showdown with Valdosta State University.
