AIKEN, S.C. - The sixth-seeded Columbus State University men's basketball team's Peach Belt Conference Tournament run ended in the semifinal game against second-seed University of North Georgia. Columbus State's record drops to 16-13 overall.
The Cougars jumped out to an early lead over the Nighthawks in the first half, ending the half with a score of 27-23 heading into halftime. CSU expanded it's lead to 11 points within the first two minutes of the second half, but slowly lost it as UNG came within one point with seven minutes left. The Nighthawks went on a 7-0 run to take the lead with under five minutes to go and the Cougars couldn't find a way to take it back.
Jarrett Adderton led CSU with 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Kordell Brown scored 14 points and
Wisdom Uboh tallied 13.
Jehloni James led the Cougars with nine rebounds.
Columbus State shot 64.3 percent from the charity line, 32.1 percent from the field goal and 29.6 percent from three-point range.
