COLUMBUS – Columbus State University women's basketball head coach Matt Houser was named as the Week 11: WHoopDirt.com Coach of the Week presented by Fastbreak Playbook, the national basketball news outlet announced on Wednesday.
 
Coach Houser and the Lady Cougars had a fantastic week which began with an upset victory at then No. 6-ranked North Georgia on Monday night followed by home wins against Clayton State (Ga.) and USC Aiken (S.C.).
 
"So proud of this team," Houser stated. "This is a great honor, and I am only here because of these great and amazing young women I get to coach, and my outstanding staff who keeps pushing perfection. We will keep working hard to reach our goals."
 
Columbus State is 11-4 overall this season and 5-1 in conference play. The Lady Cougars are looking to continue their recent solid form of play on Sunday afternoon at Lander (S.C.) by extending their winning streak to five games.
