COLUMBUS – The Columbus State University men's and women's basketball teams will hit the road for the first Peach Belt Conference clash of the 2025 portion of the season. The Cougars will take on Augusta (Ga.) on Saturday, Jan. 4 in the Christenberry Fieldhouse in Augusta, Ga.

Women's Basketball vs Augusta
The Lady Cougars (7-3, 1-0 PBC) return to action after the 86-60 win over Faulkner (Ala.) on Dec. 20. After some time off, CSU returns to play with a test against the Jags (9-2, 1-0 PBC) who are second in the PBC standings.
Columbus State will look to lean on the play of
Bre'lyn Snipes,
Letiya Reeves, and
Olonna Rawls. Snipes leads the scoring with an average of 14.5 ppg followed by 14.2 ppg from Reeves and 12.1 ppg from Rawls. Rawls also leads off the glass with an average of 6.0 rebounds per game and controls the team with 2.5 assists and 3.4 steals per contest.
As for Augusta, the Jags average 60.6 ppg as a team with Mone Florence and Autumn Phillips leading the scoring with just 10.9 and 10.1 ppg, respectively. Historically, CSU holds a dominant 31-9 overall record against Augusta and are 6-4 in the last 10 meetings.

No. 19 Men's Basketball vs Augusta
The No. 19-ranked Cougars (10-1, 1-0 PBC) are on one of the hottest starts in program history and look to continue their impressive form against Augusta (7-4, 1-0 PBC) on Saturday afternoon.
CSU sits atop of the PBC standings early and are riding an eight-game wave of wins heading into conference action. Columbus State returns to play after a 102-80 win over Middle Georgia on Thursday night.
Wisdom Uboh led the way with a career-high seven made three-pointers for 21 points alongside
Jehloni James' 21 points and eight rebounds. Three Cougars are scoring double-digit averages with
Jarrett Adderton scoring 21.5 ppg, James tallying 15.9 ppg, and Uboh recording 10.3 ppg.
Augusta is riding a seven-game winning streak of their own and are led by the trio Demitri Gardner, Maximillian Amadasun, and John St. Germain III. Gardner scores an average of 22.9 ppg followed by 19.3 ppg from Amadasun and 15.0 ppg from St. Germain III.
Columbus State holds a 16-30 record against the Jags and will look to return to winning ways against the in-state rival on Saturday. Augusta has gone 8-2 in the last 10 matchups with CSU last winning on Jan. 6, 2024, in a 91-87 victory in the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center.
