Cougars Basketball Hosts Georgia Southwestern on Wednesday

CSU hosts PBC home opener at 5:30 & 7:30 ET

COLUMBUS – The Columbus State University men's and women's basketball teams return home for Peach Belt Conference action on Wednesday night. The Cougars will take on Georgia Southwestern in the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center for the first PBC doubleheader of the season.

Women's Basketball vs Georgia Southwestern

The Lady Cougars (7-4, 1-1 PBC) look to bounce back after the 63-52 loss at Augusta on Saturday. CSU is 2-0 at home this season and will lean on the home crowd to move them back into the win column.
 
Columbus State is 27-9 all-time versus the Canes (5-5, 1-1 PBC) and are 3-7 in the last 10 matchups. The last time the two met in Columbus, CSU won 59-55 on Herbert Greene Court. Letiya Reeves and Bre'lyn Snipes are both averaging 13.8 points per game to lead CSU offensively.
 
Georgia Southwestern is coming off a tight 79-75 loss versus Lander (S.C.) on Saturday. The Canes average 71.7 ppg and are shooting for 42.3% from the field, 34.4% from three, and 71.4% from the foul line this season.

No. 25 Men's Basketball vs Georgia Southwestern

The No. 25-ranked Cougars (10-2, 1-1 PBC) slipped to Augusta on Saturday in a tight four-point loss. CSU looks to add a win to their 20-15 record over GSW on Wednesday night. In the last 10 meetings, CSU has notched a record of 8-2.
 
Wisdom Uboh has joined Jarrett Adderton and Jehloni James as the trio of leading scorers in double figures. Adderton leads with 21.4 ppg followed by 15.7 ppg from James and 11.4 from Uboh.
 
Georgia Southwestern is 6-6 on the season and 0-2 in PBC play. The Canes are coming off a 75-73 loss versus Lander, dropping three of the last four games they've competed in. GSW is averaging 81.3 ppg and shooting 47.1% from the field, 35.7% from three, and 68% from the charity stripe.
