COLUMBUS – Columbus State University Women's Soccer standout Juanita Escobar has been named this week's Athlete of the Week following her strong performance in the Cougars' 9–1 Homecoming victory over USC Aiken.

Escobar, a native of Medellín, Colombia, netted her first goal of the season in Saturday's decisive Peach Belt Conference win, adding to the festive Homecoming atmosphere at Walden Soccer Complex. Her contribution highlighted the team's balanced offensive attack, which powered CSU to one of its most commanding wins of the season.

A Management Information Systems major, Escobar continues to shine both on the pitch and in the classroom. Known for her work ethic and positive spirit, she has become a valuable member of the Cougars program.

When asked what sports have taught her most about life, Escobar reflected:
"To always work to be better and to take things less seriously."

With Escobar's contributions, the Cougars look to keep building momentum in conference play as they chase another strong finish in the Peach Belt.
