Cougars Ride Eight-Game Win Streak into NCAA Tournament

The Columbus State Women’s Soccer team is going into the NCAA Tournament with confidence and momentum.

COLUMBUS, Ga. –  Winners of eight straight and fresh off their third consecutive Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championship, the Columbus State Women's Soccer team (14-5-1) will open NCAA play on Friday against a familiar foe in Lenoir-Rhyne.

Columbus State will make their 18th NCAA Tournament appearance on Friday, marking five appearances in a row by the Cougars (2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021). 

The Cougars and the Bears met earlier with season, with Lenoir-Rhyne winning 2-1 in Columbus. CSU hold a 4-3-3 all-time series lead over the Bears and a 2-1-2 lead in NCAA Tournament games, but haven't beaten LR since a 1-0 win in 2022. The last time the two faced each other in postseason action, The Bear claimed a thrilling 4-2 PK shootout in the NCAA Second Round two years ago in Hickory.

Friday's first round match up will kick off at 12:00 p.m. at the University of North Georgia Soccer Complex in Dahlonega, Ga.
