Columbus State Defeats ABAC 103–64 in Holiday Tip-Off

The Columbus State University Men’s Basketball team delivered a dominant performance on Tuesday night, defeating Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College 103–64 inside the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center as part of the Holiday Tip-Off.

COLUMBUS — The Columbus State University Men's Basketball team delivered a dominant performance on Tuesday night, defeating Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College 103–64 inside the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center as part of the Holiday Tip-Off. The Cougars improved to 5–2 on the season with the win.

Columbus State's offense was electric, putting up 53 first-half points and shooting 57% from the field while knocking down 15 threes. The defensive pressure set the tone early, forcing 20 turnovers and converting them into 30 points, helping the Cougars build a lead that never wavered. Columbus State also controlled the glass, out-rebounding ABAC 32-28, while posting 16 steals and limiting the Stallions to just 25-of-51 shooting.

Lee Langstaff II led Columbus State with 26 points on 8-of-10 shooting, including 5-for-6 from three, along with four steals in just 17 minutes. Pascal Volz added 16 points, hitting 4-of-4 from deep, while

Pascal Volz added 16 points, hitting 4-of-4 from deep, while Ahmed-Sory Soumahoro had 11 scored 11 points, and Jaylen Harris added 10 points. In total, 11 Cougars scored, and the bench contributed 47 points.

Columbus State now turns its attention to Peach Belt Conference play, which tips off tomorrow, Wednesday, December 3, when the Cougars host Lander University at 7:30 p.m. inside the Lumpkin Center.

Both Columbus State basketball teams will be in action, and fans can receive free admission with a donated Teddy Bear, presented by Columbus State Athletics and Piedmont Columbus Regional. All bears will support the Piedmont Columbus Regional Community Outreach Program.
