MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Columbus State University bounced back with a 10-3 win over Barry (Fla.) on Sunday afternoon in Miami Shores, Fla.
The Cougars (4-5) secured a solid win against the Buccaneers (6-3), scoring chunks in the third and sixth innings.
CSU took a four-run lead in the top of the third with RBI singles from
Ian King,
Cody Ferguson,
Warrick Wilmot, and
Bryce Knox. Barry produced a pair of RBI singles in the bottom of the fourth to cut the Cougars' lead in half.
Columbus State exploded in the sixth inning with three hits which included a two-RBI double from
Luke Miller and a two-run home run from
Cayden Evans. The Cougars also scored on a muffed throw to help secure a 9-2 advantage.
Three hits from the Buccaneers helped to produce one run scored in the eighth inning to cut the deficit to six runs, however, the Cougars added another RBI base hit from King to secure a 10-3 lead and the eventual win.
