Women’s Basketball Falls to Flagler 76-71

CSU takes their seventh loss of the season

COLUMBUS – Columbus State women's basketball dropped a home game against conference opponent Flagler 71-76 on Wednesday night. The Lady Cougars move to (17-7, 11-4 PBC) as the Saints move to (11-13, 7-8 PBC).

First Quarter

The Lady Cougars struggled to get on the board, allowing the Saints to go on an 8-0 run in the first three minutes of the game. A successful group of substitutions for CSU immediately picked up the intensity to lessen the Saints' lead. Zuzanna Rudenko got the first two on the board for the Lady Cougars followed by a Letiya Reeves three-pointer. The quarter ended 10-16 in favor of Flagler.

Second Quarter

Ten seconds into the quarter, Flagler opened with a three-pointer followed by a quick response from Reeves with a three-pointer. The Lady Cougars were unable to capitalize off three turnovers from the Saints and continued to dig themselves into a hole. With five minutes left in the half, two three-pointers from Flagler put them ahead 32-17. CSU continued to struggle for the remainder of the quarter as they shot 4-17 from the field.
