COLUMBUS – Columbus State women's basketball dropped a home game against conference opponent Flagler 71-76 on Wednesday night. The Lady Cougars move to (17-7, 11-4 PBC) as the Saints move to (11-13, 7-8 PBC).
First Quarter
The Lady Cougars struggled to get on the board, allowing the Saints to go on an 8-0 run in the first three minutes of the game. A successful group of substitutions for CSU immediately picked up the intensity to lessen the Saints' lead. Zuzanna Rudenko got the first two on the board for the Lady Cougars followed by a Letiya Reeves three-pointer. The quarter ended 10-16 in favor of Flagler.
Second Quarter
Ten seconds into the quarter, Flagler opened with a three-pointer followed by a quick response from Reeves with a three-pointer. The Lady Cougars were unable to capitalize off three turnovers from the Saints and continued to dig themselves into a hole. With five minutes left in the half, two three-pointers from Flagler put them ahead 32-17. CSU continued to struggle for the remainder of the quarter as they shot 4-17 from the field.

Third Quarter
Kristyn Goshay got her name on the stat sheet with a driving layup in the paint. The Lady Cougars were able to lessen the score deficit to thirteen points, but the Saints continued to press as the deficit went back to eighteen for CSU. Reeves leads the Lady Cougars with nineteen points to end the quarter. Despite only shooting 40% from the field, CSU's ability to capitalize off free throws allowed them to get back into the game with a 50-60 score at the end of the third.
Fourth Quarter
The Lady Cougars opened the fourth with a drastic change in energy. With four minutes left in the game, they were able to bring the deficit to just six points. A steal from Bre'Lyn Snipes led to a driving layup from Olonna Rawls. Despite their best efforts, Columbus State fell to Flagler 71-76.
Inside the Numbers
- The Lady Cougars finished shooting for 30.9% (21-68) from the field, 19% (4-21) from the three, and 73.5% (25-34) from the foul line.
- Reeves led with twenty-three points as Rawls had twelve points.
- Flagler led in three-pointers shooting 10-21 while CSU went 3-20.
- Adle led with six rebounds while Snipes, Rawls, and Samara Saunders had five apiece.
