COLUMBUS – Columbus State University softball is set for a Wednesday road trip to Montevallo (Ala.) for a non-conference doubleheader.

Lady Cougars vs Falcons
Columbus State travels for a midweek clash in Montevallo, Alabama taking on the Falcons who are 7-5 on the season. CSU is riding a 10-game winning streak and are 11-1 on the season. The Lady Cougars are coming off a solid showing last week going 4-0 with Holly Lynn earning Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week honors.
Lynn leads the team in batting average (.500), slugging percentage (1.318) and home runs (six), while also being tied for the team lead in hits with 11 alongside Nova Wright and Anna Waites. Wright has batted in 14 RBIs to lead the team followed by Lynn with 13.
In the circle, the duo of Julianna Franklin and Lily Miller have proven to be solid. Franklin holds an unblemished 7-0 record on the season with a 0.96 ERA in 43.2 innings pitched. Miller is 4-1 on the year with a 1.5 ERA, tossing for 28 innings so far.
CSU meets UM for the 18th time in program history, holing an 11-6 advantage. The last time out, Columbus State took a pair from the Falcons at Cougar Field a season ago.
As for Montevallo, they are coming off a 1-2 weekend against Mississippi College. Ariana Pinder leads UM in batting average (.383), hits (18), and OBP (.400). In addition, Becca Benton leads with five doubles, nine RBIs, eight runs, and two homers.
Taylor Lloyd leads the way in the circle with 49.2 innings pitched ahead of Berkley Mooney with 20.1 IP under her belt. Lloyd has totaled 36 strikeouts and a 2.54 ERA while Mooney is holding a 1.72 ERA.
