COLUMBUS – Columbus State baseball fell 4-10 to Valdosta State on Tuesday afternoon. The Cougars are now 10-14 on the season.

After two scoreless innings, Valdosta State got on the board in the third to go up 4-0 against the Cougars. Ian King recorded Columbus State's first hit of the game in the fourth inning after he notched a single to right field.
The next two innings were scoreless as Valdosta struck again in the sixth inning to add three more runs. The visitors recorded three hits that led to three runs as the Cougars dug themselves into a deeper hole.
Columbus State responded in the seventh inning after Ethan Crawley opened the scoring with a home run to left field. Jackson Chizek followed with a single to right center field and tallied a stolen base. Luke Miller brought Chizek home after he notched a single for himself. Cayden Evans loaded the bases after he singled to left field. A sacrifice fly from Warrick Wilmot brought in Miller followed by a Cole Eison single to bring in King. The Cougars recorded six hits with four runs to bring the score closer to 4-7.
Valdosta ended the game with three more runs in the eighth inning to give the Cougars their fourteenth loss of the season.

- King led the Cougars with four hits followed by Crawley, Miller, and Evans with two hits apiece.
- The Cougars struggled on the mound as nine different pitchers saw action tonight. Trenton Burnett picked up the loss after pitching for half an inning and giving up four runs, two walks, and two errors.
- The Cougars only struck out two batters for the afternoon as Valdosta struck out eight batters.
