COLUMBUS – Columbus State women's tennis opened Peach Belt Conference action on Sunday with a home match against Augusta at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.
The Lady Cougars (7-4, 1-0 PBC) picked up the first PBC win of the season with a 5-2 win over the Jaguars (9-5, 0-3 PBC), bouncing back into the win column.
Columbus State secured the doubles team point with wins at #1 and #3 doubles. Isadora Oliveira and Laura Pesickova blanked AU's #1 doubles pairing 6-0 while Nikoline Gullacksen and Annie Adams went 6-3 in #3 doubles.
Gullacksen led with a pair of 6-1 wins at #1 singles followed by Mariana Ramirez winning 6-4, 6-3 at #2 singles. Pesickova secured #3 singles with wins of 6-1 and 6-2. Oliveira won at #5 singles with set wins of 6-1 and 6-3. Augusta captured two team points by winning #4 and #6 singles.
