GREENVILLE, S.C. – Columbus State University (29-24, 8-13 PBC) softball fell in both games against Lander during their Saturday afternoon doubleheader. The Lady Cougars lost 6-0 in game one and 7-3 in game two.
Game One - Columbus State 0, Lander 6
Lander scored early with an opening five runs to take the 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. The Lady Cougars only tallied four hits in the seven innings and no runs in the 6-0 loss.
Jacy Ayers pitched a complete game striking out six batters and gained her third win of the season for the Bearcats.

Game Two – Columbus State 3, Lander 7
Lander got on the board early with an opening run to take the 1-0 lead. The Lady Cougars responded with two runs on one hit in the fourth inning.
Anna Waites singled up the middle and brought home
Izzy Ripatti, and
Carlee Wilson to go up 2-1.
After several scoreless innings, Lander gained the lead in the sixth inning after they scored six runs on three hits, and the Lady Cougars committed two errors for the 7-2 lead.
