Cougars defeats Georgia College behind four double-figure scorers

COLUMBUS – Columbus State women's basketball secured its 21st win of the season Saturday afternoon, defeating USC Beaufort 87-55 at the Lumpkin Center, marking nine straight wins for the Cougars.

In a game that saw four double-figure scorers for Columbus State, the Cougars led wire-to-wire on their home court.

Letiya Reeves led the way for the home squad, scoring 19 points, as the senior drained four three-pointers in 21 minutes of action. The win was the 22nd double figure game this season for Reeves.

Reeves was joined in double figures by Simone Lett, who scored 12 of her own, going 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Additionally, Alana Hankerson and Jamilah Jackson both finished with 10 points.

Both teams started slow, as CSU held just an 11-2 lead at the end of the first quarter. The home squad returned to their scoring ways in the second, dropping 28 points on the Bobcats, while holding them to just 11 points.

The squad's depth was on display in the contest, as 13 Cougars saw action in Saturday's win.

The Bobcats were led by Natalia Bolden with 11 points.

The Cougars stay at home this week, welcoming USCA to the Lumpkin Center for a matchup on Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m.
