COCHRAN, Ga. — The No. 11-ranked Columbus State University Women's Basketball team earned a hard-fought 74-65 road victory over Middle Georgia State University in a Peach Belt Conference match-up Wednesday evening inside Morris Gymnasium.
Senior standout
Letiya Reeves delivered another efficient performance, pouring in a game-high 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, while adding four steals and three rebounds in 29 minutes of action.
Samara Saunders contributed 15 points and five rebounds,
Alana Hankerson provided a spark off the bench with 11 points, five assists, and three steals, and
Aaliyah Ferrell chipped in eight points to round out the Lady Cougars' balanced scoring.
Columbus State found its rhythm in the second quarter, shooting 58.3% from the floor to take control heading into the break, while its defensive pressure limited the Knights to just 36.9% shooting overall and 18.8% from three-point range (3-of-16). The Lady Cougars shot 47.5% from the field (28-of-59) and 40.0% from beyond the arc (6-of-15), totaled 40 points in the paint, converted 21 points off turnovers, received 23 points from the bench, and recorded 12 team steals.
Columbus State's defense forced 24 turnovers by Middle Georgia, turning them into key transition opportunities. At the same time, the Lady Cougars controlled momentum late by shooting an impressive 66.7% (8-of-12) in the fourth quarter to seal the 74–65 road win.

With the win, the Lady Cougars improve to 23-3 overall and 17-2 in Peach Belt Conference play, continuing their push toward the postseason. Columbus State returns home to the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center on Sunday, March 1, for a 1:00 p.m. tip-off against Georgia Southwestern University in the regular-season home finale, as the program celebrates "Senior Day."
