AUGUSTA, Ga. — Columbus State University softball pitcher Khloe Shears has been named the Peach Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week for games played April 6–12, the conference office announced Monday.

This marks the second time this season Shears has earned the weekly honor, previously receiving the award for her performances during the week of March 9–15.

Shears played a pivotal role in Columbus State's success last week, highlighted by a statement victory over No. 3-ranked University of North Georgia. Across three appearances in the circle, Shears compiled an impressive body of work, earning multiple wins while consistently limiting opposing offenses.

The junior right-hander posted a 2-0 record in her highlighted decisions, including a complete-game performance against North Georgia in which she allowed just one run on four hits over 7.0 innings. She issued four walks and did not allow an extra-base hit in the outing, helping secure a key conference win for the Cougars.

In total, Shears logged 16.2 innings over the week, allowing nine hits and five earned runs while striking out two and issuing seven walks. She held opponents to minimal scoring opportunities, recording a combined 24 flyouts and 22 groundouts across her appearances.

Shears also contributed in an earlier outing with a 4.2-inning effort, allowing three runs on five hits, and added another strong performance with 5.0 innings of one-run ball, further demonstrating her reliability in the circle.

Her performances were instrumental in Columbus State's continued success in Peach Belt Conference play, including the Cougars' win over a nationally ranked opponent.
