COLUMBUS – Columbus State University Women's Soccer junior Skye Tumbelty has been named the Columbus State Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week presented by Chick-fil-A on Macon Road and Manchester Expressway.

Tumbelty helped lead the Cougars during a two-match week against Florida Southern and Lincoln Memorial. The Jacksonville, Fla., native played all 180 minutes and recorded five shots, three shots on goal and one goal.

After registering three shots, including one on goal, in Columbus State's match against Florida Southern on Aug. 27, Tumbelty found the back of the net against Lincoln Memorial on Aug. 29. She scored once on two shots, placing both attempts on goal while playing the full 90 minutes.

Tumbelty attended Creekside High School and is majoring in Psychology at Columbus State. When asked to name her favorite athlete, Tumbelty selected Manchester City and Norway striker Erling Haaland.

The Columbus State Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week award recognizes outstanding athletic and academic achievements and is presented weekly by Chick-fil-A on Macon Road and Manchester Expressway, a proud supporter of Columbus State student-athletes.
