COLUMBUS | Columbus State University men's cross-country freshman
Shaun Williams has been named the Columbus State Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Chick-fil-A on Macon Road and Manchester Expressway.
Williams captured the individual title at the Willie Laster Invitational on Friday, Sept. 11, completing the men's 8K in 27:38.90. He crossed the finish line nearly 25 seconds ahead of the runner-up.
Williams led a dominant performance by the Cougars, who placed five runners among the top six and won the team title with 19 points. Columbus State finished 44 points ahead of second-place Morehouse.
The Macon, Ga., native attended Jones County High School and is majoring in management information systems. His favorite television show is All American.
The Columbus State Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week award recognizes outstanding athletic and academic achievements and is presented weekly by Chick-fil-A on Macon Road and Manchester Expressway, a proud supporter of Columbus State student-athletes.
