DAHLONEGA, Ga. | Shaun Williams crossed the finish line first for the second consecutive meet as the Columbus State University Cross Country teams turned in a pair of podium finishes Friday (Sept. 18) at the UNG Cross Country Invitational. The Cougar men placed second overall, while the women finished third.

Williams captured the men's individual title with an 8K time of 27:50.6, following his first-place finish at the Willie Laster Invitational one week ago. The freshman has now won each of his last two races.

Moses Adams was the next Cougar across the line, placing seventh with a time of 29:15.3. James Harrelson followed in 11th at 29:54.0, while Ian Palomares finished 12th with a time of 30:07.7.

Garrett Rogers crossed the line in 36th with a time of 34:14.1, followed by Logan Terwilliger in 42nd at 35:12.5 and Zane Bell in 49th at 37:56.6. Columbus State finished second in the team standings with 65 points.

On the women's side, Columbus State placed third with 108 points. Layla Albright led the Cougars with a 12th-place finish, completing the 5K in 19:50.7.

Noah Griffeth followed in 18th with a time of 20:09.8, while Anna Norton placed 20th at 20:14.8. Emmalee Johnson crossed the line in 25th with a time of 20:28.7, and Hadiya Ali rounded out CSU's scoring five in 33rd at 20:58.8.

Alaiya James finished 46th with a time of 21:53.3, followed by Anna Petallar in 48th at 22:14.6 and Reese Moss in 49th at 22:17.0.
