COLUMBUS, Ga. | Columbus State University women's golfer Violet Northcott has been named the Columbus State Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Chick-fil-A on Macon Road and Manchester Expressway.

Northcott led the Cougars by tying for fourth individually with a three-round total of 218 (+2). She opened the tournament with a 74 (+2), carded a one-under 71 in the second round and closed with a 73 (+1).

Her performance helped Columbus State finish third with a 54-hole score of 902 (+38). The Cougars posted rounds of 302, 303 and 297, finishing two strokes ahead of Lee and Lander, which tied for fourth.

Northcott is a freshman from Asheville, N.C., and attended T.C. Roberson High School. She is majoring in business, and her favorite athlete is Scottie Scheffler.

The Columbus State Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week award recognizes outstanding athletic and academic achievements and is presented weekly by Chick-fil-A on Macon Road and Manchester Expressway, a proud supporter of Columbus State student-athletes.
