Salsa Andrade

Before joining Columbus State University, Coach Salsa was the Associate Head Coach for Men’s Soccer at Shaw University for two years, after spending three years as an Assistant Coach for both the men's and women's teams. In the 2023-2024 season, he led Shaw's men's team to the USCAA Men’s Tournament.

Coach Salsa’s coaching journey began at Wake Tech Community College, where he served as an assistant coach. Before that, he was a graduate assistant coach at his alma mater, N.C. Wesleyan, where he helped guide the Battling Bishops to the NCAA Tournament.

Originally from Angola, Andrade moved to the United States in 2001. As a former student-athlete, he attended the Community College of Rhode Island before being recruited by N.C. Wesleyan. At N.C. Wesleyan, he earned All-Conference Second Team honors, received the Sportsmanship Award, and played a key role in leading the Bishops through the NCAA DIII East Division Conference Tournament.

In addition to his collegiate coaching career, Andrade has played semi-professionally in Iceland and the United States. He holds coaching licenses from the United States Soccer Federation and the United Soccer Coaches organization. Over the years, he has coached thousands of players at the youth, collegiate, and professional levels as a head coach with the Tar River Youth Soccer Association, North Carolina Football Club, and through his supplemental training business, Salsas11.

Andrade earned his degree in Sports Management with a Concentration in Coaching from N.C. Wesleyan in 2017.
