Atlanta - Columbus State University men's basketball players Kenney Funderburk and DeAngelo Kirkland continue to pull in postseason honors as the pair was named to the Georgia Basketball Coaches Association All-State teams.

Funderburk was one of five players named to the NCAA Division II First Team, while Kirkland slotted in on the Second Team.

A First-Team All-Peach Belt Conference selection, Funderburk finished second in the league in scoring with 19.2 points per game. He scored over 20 points in 15 games this season, including a career-high 31 during the Cougars' 91-90 comeback win over Georgia College on January 10. The Charlotte, N.C. native also averaged nearly three rebounds and three assists per game.

Despite playing just two seasons in a Cougar uniform, Funderburk finished his career as the ninth all-time leading scorer in CSU history. Scoring 991 points in two seasons, he averaged 17.4 points per game leaving him sixth all-time in that department. Funderburk's senior season ranked as the eighth-most prolific scoring year in program history with 571 points scored.

Fundeburk has now been named to the All-Peach Belt Conference, All-Southeast Region, All-State and All-Southeast District teams since the end of the regular season.

A member of the All-PBC second team, Kirkland averaged 13.2 points and 11.6 rebounds per game, the only player in the conference to average a double-double. Kirkland's skill on the boards tied him for sixth in NCAA Division II in rebounds per game. The Pensacola, Fla. native posted 16 double-doubles on the season.

In his two years at CSU, Kirkland amassed 562 rebounds, leaving him seventh all-time in program history. His two-year average of 9.9 rebounds per game rank second-best in the program's storied history.

Kirkland adds the All-State selection to All-Conference and All-Region honors received in March.

The duo also participated in the GABCA All-Star game on March 28 in the Dorough Field House in Atlanta. Kirkland scored a team-high 18 points to help lead the GABCA Home team to a 97-90 victory. Funderburk tallied 13 points and eight rebounds. The game featured the top seniors in the state of Georgia from the NCAA Division II, III, NAIA and NCCAA ranks.
