SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The strong run through the month of October for the fifth-ranked Columbus State University women's soccer team continued on Saturday with a 5-0 defeat of Flagler. The Peach Belt Conference match was played at Saints Field.

The shutout marks the seventh consecutive for the Lady Cougars, who have now won eight straight. CSU has played 663 straight minutes since it last allowed a goal.

"We are playing really well right now," head coach
Jay Entlich said. "Flagler is always a difficult match for us, but we were ready to go from the start today and earned a good victory."

Keeping with its dominant ways, Columbus State (13-2-0, 9-1-0) was rolling from the outset. The Lady Cougars fired off four shots in the opening eight minutes of the match.

It took 22 minutes before CSU ultimately broke through though.
Olivia Jarrell dribbled down the left side and beat a defender into the box. However, the last defender standing between her and the net tackled Jarrell in the box to give the Lady Cougars a penalty kick.
Tehgan Anguilm took the PK and beat the keeper to put CSU in front.

The score remained 1-0 over the next 20 minutes, despite four more shots and five corner kicks.

In the 43
rd minute, the Lady Cougars scored off a short corner. Jarrell played the corner kick to Anguilm, who sent a pass into the box. Wade got on the end of the serve and tapped it inside the far post. The goal was the 10
th of the season for the junior, her new career high.

Just before the first half ended, Columbus State tacked on one more. Controlling the possession, the Lady Cougars passed the ball around the field before
Taylor Marks found
Hugrun Elvarsdottir on the left side. Elvarsdottir fired one that found the right side of the net to give CSU a 3-0 advantage at halftime.

The Lady Cougars found the net two more times in the second half. Jarrell put home a loose ball in front of the net in the 57
th minute for her 10
th of the year.
Atalia Ramirez then capped the scoring with less than one minute remaining.
Keyle Snyder put a centering pass into the box and Ramirez scored her second of the season.

CSU outshot Flagler (4-4-3, 3-3-2) 21-2 for the match, including 12-0 in the first half.

Maylyn Parsons earned another victory in net with nearly 77 scoreless minutes before being subbed out.
Paige Betsill took it the rest of the way for the Lady Cougars.

Columbus State will play its final road match of the regular season next Thursday night at PBC rival Armstrong State. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
