FLORENCE, S.C. – The fourth-ranked Columbus State University women's soccer team wrapped up a Peach Belt Conference regular season championship on Saturday with a 5-2 win at Francis Marion.

Columbus State (12-0-1, 9-0-0 PBC) has now won six straight regular season conference titles, matching the PBC women's soccer record done by CSU from 2005-10. The Lady Cougars now have 12 regular season titles the program's 15 seasons. No other program has more than three in the history of the Peach Belt.

"I'm very proud of this group," head coach
Jay Entlich said. "We establish goals as a team before the season and we are able to check one off today. We still have a lot bigger goals we want to accomplish, but it's always great to win a conference championship."

The Lady Cougars controlled play for much of the first half, but the only scoring came in the 18
th and 19
th minutes.

Olivia Jarrell and
Riley Clark teamed together to set up the opening goal of the match, leaving
Brooke Nail with just a tap in to make it 1-0.

Less than 90 seconds later,
Kimmy May took a pass outside the top of the box and launched a shot over the keeper from 20 yards out to double the advantage.

The match stayed at 2-0 until the break, despite a 9-2 advantage in shots for the Lady Cougars.

CSU's goals once again came in bunches in the second half, with the Lady Cougars tallying three in a span of six minutes. Jarrell got on the board for the first time with a short strike after a perfect cross from May in the 56
th minute.

Clark added another three minutes later, pinging one off the inside of the right post and in. Jarrell then grabbed a double for the day with her team-leading 14
th of the year.

Francis Marion (5-8-1, 2-6-0) was able to put a pair of late goals on the board with the match already in hand in the final six minutes.

Bria Riancho recorded her fourth straight scoreless outing in net for the Lady Cougars, playing 84 minutes without allowing a goal.

Columbus State will play its final home match of the regular season on Wednesday against Tusculum. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Walden Soccer Complex.
