COLUMBUS – The Columbus State University men's and women's tennis teams made quick of ABAC with 9-0 wins on Saturday. The matches were played at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.

The Cougar men rolled to 3-0 on the season with a perfect day on Saturday.

Second-ranked
KP Pannu and
Alvaro Regalado rolled 8-2 at first doubles, with No. 24
Zach Whaanga and
Matei Avram winning 8-4 at the second spot.
Shao-Yu Yu and
Arnold Kokulewski also won 8-3 at third doubles.

Top-ranked Pannu had no trouble in singles winning 6-1, 6-3. No. 18 Whaanga won 6-4, 6-1 at second and No. 22 Regalado finished off his opponent 6-0, 6-2 at number three.

Paul Spregelmeijer was victorious 6-4, 6-2 at the fourth spot. Avram won 6-1, 6-2 and Kokulewski was 6-0, 6-1 at fifth and sixth singles, respectively.

It was much of the same on the women's side as the Lady Cougars moved to 2-0.
Beatriz Lopez and
Noa Davico won 8-2 at the top doubles position, as did
Giorgia Vitale and
Natalia Kattah Paz at the third spot.
Marleen Tilgner and
Candice Paya made it a sweep, winning 8-3 at second doubles.

Third-ranked Lopez won 6-1, 7-6 to start the singles play, with straight-set victories coming from the third through sixth positions as well.

Vitale tallied a spotless 6-0, 6-0 win at third, Tilgner went 6-1, 6-2 at fourth,
Luise Sachs won 6-1, 6-3 at fifth and Kattah Paz was 6-0, 6-4 in the sixth spot.

Fourteenth-ranked Paya needed an extra set, but tallied a 7-5, 4-6, 10-8 win at second singles for the 9-0 sweep.

The Lady Cougars will be on the road on Sunday to take on Emory, which is ranked No. 2 in Division III. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Atlanta.

Both teams will be at home on Wednesday to take on Anderson at 2 p.m.
