COLUMBUS – The fourth-ranked Columbus State University men's tennis team kept its perfect record in Peach Belt Conference play intact with a 9-0 victory over Augusta on Wednesday. The conference match was played at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.

Columbus State improved to 10-2 behind its fourth straight win and moved its PBC record to 4-0.

Wednesday got started with a clean run through doubles play for the Cougars.
Zach Whaanga and
Alvaro Regalado made quick work at the top spot with an 8-2 victory.
KP Pannu and
Matei Avram teamed up for the first time this season and were 8-1 winners at second doubles, while
Shao-Yu Yu and
Arnold Kokulewski added an 8-3 win for the 3-0 lead.

Top-ranked Pannu notched an impressive 6-2, 6-3 win over the 10
th-ranked player in the country at first singles, as the Cougars capped off the sweep.

Regalado was perfect in a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of second singles, with
Matei Avram and
Paul Sprengelmeijer getting straight-set wins at fourth and fifth, respectively.

Kokulewski needed a lengthy tiebreak for a 6-3, 2-6, 12-10 win at third singles and
Jorge Vargas closed in similar fashion for a 3-6, 6-4, 10-8 victory at sixth.

Columbus State's next match will come next Wednesday in Boca Raton, Fla. against third-ranked Lynn.
