PENSACOLA, Fla. – In the final match of the regular season, the third-ranked Columbus State University men's tennis team picked up a 9-0 win over Hawaii Pacific on Saturday. The nonconference match was played at the University of West Florida.

Columbus State closes out the regular season at 19-3 and will head into next week's Peach Belt Conference Tournament as the top seed.

The Cougars rolled on Saturday, kicking off the day with three doubles wins and never looking back.

Zach Whaanga and
Alvaro Regalado were 8-2 winners at first doubles, with
KP Pannu and
Matei Avram cruising 8-1 at second.
Shao-Yu Yu and
Arnold Kokulewski paired together for an 8-6 win to complete the doubles sweep.

Pannu took down his opponent 6-2, 6-0 at the top singles position, as all six Cougars won in straight sets. Whaanga took down a 6-2, 7-5 win at two and Regalado was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at three.

Paul Sprengelmeijer put together a 6-2, 6-2 victory at fourth, while Avram won 6-3, 6-2 at fifth and
Jorge Vargas was victorious 6-1, 6-1 at sixth.

The PBC Tournament begins with the quarterfinal round on Friday and will be played at Francis Marion in Florence, S.C.
