DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The fourth-ranked Columbus State University men's tennis team added another ranked win to its tally with an 8-1 win over No. 34 North Georgia on Sunday. The Peach Belt Conference match was played in Dahlonega.

Columbus State (16-3, 8-0 PBC) clinched at least a share of the PBC regular season championship with the win. The Cougars can win the conference outright with a win over Georgia College on Thursday.

The Cougars turned in three doubles wins to start off Sunday's match.

Shao-Yu Yu and
Jorge Vargas opened the day up with an 8-2 win at third doubles.
KP Pannu and
Matei Avram added an 8-4 victory at second doubles, and
Alvaro Regalado and
Zach Whaanga completed the sweep with an 8-6 triumph at the top spot.

Pannu was a 6-4, 6-2 winner at first singles, while Regalado took his match 6-1, 6-2 at second. Avram and
Arnold Kokulewski were straight-set winners as well, with Avram winning 7-5, 7-6 at fourth singles and Kokulewski taking sixth 6-2, 6-3.

Jorge Vargas added another win 6-3, 5-7, 10-7 at fifth singles.

North Georgia (9-7, 2-5) grabbed its only win of the day with a 2-6, 6-2, 10-8 win over
Paul Sprengelmeijer.

The Cougars will host Auburn Montgomery on Wednesday. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
