EVANS, Ga. - The No. 11 Columbus State University women's soccer team left no doubt in a 4-0 victory over UNC Pembroke in a non-conference, neutral-site match at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans, Ga.
The Cougars (4-0-1) scored a pair of goals in both halves, despite battling constant rain and a 30-minute lightning delay during the opening half.
"This wasn't the easiest day to play soccer in, but the girls got the job done," commented head coach
Jay Entlich. "You aren't going to get great conditions every time you go out there, so I'm glad the girls stayed focus throughout."

Parker Morgan and
Rachael Sweigard both scoring their third goals of the year. Morgan headed her shot home in the 17th minute off a corner kick from
Maria Kilset, while Sweigard finished off an attack to score in the 25th minute.
After a 30-minute delay and halftime,
Lauren Barnes put home her first collegiate goal in the 51st minute to give CSU the 3-0 lead.
Maddie DeFranco capped off the scoring in the 73rd minute after great passes from
Sydney Ormsby and
Samantha Romaine.
Sara Halilhodzic and
Lizzie Hedrick teamed up in net for the pair's third combined shutout of the year. Halilhodzic had a save in the opening half, while Hedrick kept out three shots over the final 45 minutes.
