ATLANTA - The Columbus State University men's basketball team (2-1) lost a close game, 76-72, to Morehouse College (1-1) on Wednesday, Nov. 16 inside the GA Forbes Arena. This is the Cougars' first loss of the 2022-23 season.
CSU outscored the Maroon Tigers in the first half 32-31, but couldn't maintain the lead in the second half as MC outscored the Cougars 45-40.
NOTES:
- Grant Howard led the Cougars offensively with 14 points and four assists.
- Demierre Black tallied 12 points, shooting 66 percent (6-for-9) from the field and also added four assists.
- Four Cougars scored nine points - Joshua Jerome, Wisdom Uboh, Daniel Melvin and Marcellious Lockett.
- Jerome and Melvin grabbed six rebounds apiece, while Jerome recorded three steals to lead CSU defensively.
