Nelson Haskin's huge game propels Cougars over Tuskegee

Columbus State extends it's win streak to four games.

TUSKEGEE, Ala. - The Columbus State University men's basketball team dominated the Golden Tigers in the James Center Arena on Friday evening. This marks the team's fourth win in nine days, bringing CSU to a record of 6-2 while Tuskegee falls to 7-4. 

The story of the night was a monster game from Nelson Haskin, finishing with a double-double including 21 points and 11 rebounds. The star center also rejected four shots and sank his only three-point attempt. 

The Cougars started the game off hot by going on a 9-0 run with three-pointers from Nelson Haskin and Daniel Melvin. They went on to shoot 41% from the floor and 33% from the three-point arc to finish the half leading 30-25 going into halftime.

Columbus State played the second half just like their first but improved their shooting percentage to 46% from the floor in the second half. Demierre Black also had a great night finishing with eight points and six rebounds. CSU dominated the glass brining down 42 total rebounds, 11 offensive. They also were focused at the free throw line where they went 25-31, the most free throw attempts in a game and their most made free throws in a game so far this season.

UP NEXT:
The Cougars will have a quick turn around as they put their four game win streak on the line in Fairfield, Alabama tomorrow at Miles College. This will be a great matchup of two 6-2 teams. Tip off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
