INDIANAPOLIS - The Columbus State University women's basketball team is returning to the NCAA Tournament as the Lady Cougars earned an at-large selection into the NCAA Tournament.
CSU is the eighth seed in the regional and will face a familiar foe in the opening round on Friday, March 11. The Lady Cougars take on top seed and ninth-ranked North Georgia in the program's first NCAA Tournament game since 2018.
The NCAA Southeast Regional will be held on UNG's home court in Dahlonega, Ga.
Columbus State will be making its 12th trip to the NCAA Tournament, but the first under third-year head coach
Matt Houser. CSU has won three regional championships with the last coming in 2017.
The Lady Cougars are 17-13 entering the regional after falling in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament semifinals to North Georgia on Saturday.
UNG (27-3) wrapped up its second straight PBC Tournament championship on Sunday. The Nighthawks defeated Clayton State University 72-65 for its fourth title in five seasons.
