COLUMBUS - The No. 15 Columbus State University women's soccer team came out firing in a 6-0 victory over Mississippi College on Sunday afternoon at the Walden Soccer Complex.
SCORING BREAKDOWN
• The scoring commenced right off  with
Olivia Roth putting the Lady Cougars (2-0-0) up in the 13th minute.Â
• After an own-goal by Missisppi College,
Emma Beddow ripped a shot by goalkeeper Sara Malekis before freshman
Anna Labarbera added another CSU goal in the closing minutes of the opening half to give Columbus State a 4-0 lead.
• Graduate student
Rachael Sweigard capped off the scoring with two second half goals (45th, 53rd).
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Columbus State outshot MC 17-12. The Lady Cougars put up 10 over the first 45 minutes.
• CSU doubled up the Choctaws 8-4 in corner kicks.
• Both teams were agressive with 19 fouls whistled and three yellow cards handed out.
• Beddow led all players with four shots.
Faith Knoedler and Sweigard both had three for CSU.
