GREENWOOD, S.C. - The No. 4 Columbus State University women's soccer team used two second-half goals to grab a 3-1 win over Lander University on Saturday. The Peach Belt Conference match took place at Van Taylor Stadium in Greenwood, S.C.
SCORING BREAKDOWN
• Columbus State (5-1-1, 2-0-1 PBC) took an opening lead in the 39th minute. The ball deflected off the right post directly to
Rachael Sweigard, who knocked it home to put the Cougars in front.
• Lander (2-2-3, 0-1-1) found an equalizer just over three minutes later when Maren White snuck a penalty kick goal passed the diving
Lizzie Hedrick.

Faith Knoedler saved the perfect time to score her first goal as a Cougar in the 63rd minute. Knoedler lept in the air to head home a goal off a corner kick from
Emma Beddow.
• CSU added insurance in the 75th minute after a blocked shot went into the back of the net for an own goal.

• Lander outshot the Cougars 11-10 and had a 5-3 edge in shots on goal.

Lizzie Hedrick played the entire match, including making three crucial saves in the second half. The senior made four in all en route to her fourth win of the year.
