COLUMBUS, Ga. - The No. 3 Columbus State University women's soccer team rolled to a 7-0 victory over Lincoln Memorial University on Wednesday afternoon. The non-conference match took place at the Walden Soccer Complex in Columbus, Ga.
SCORING BREAKDOWN
• It took CSU (6-1-1) 22 minutes to break the lid in the scoring column as
Rachael Sweigard started the flurry.
Emma Beddow set up the goal after sliding a pass into the box.Â
• In the 32nd minute,
Faith Knoedler started her day to remember after knocking one home off a corner kick from
Olivia Roth.Â
• It was Knoedler again right out of the break to make it 3-0 in the 48th minute. The Columbus native netted her second goal of the match, thanks to an assist from
Abigal Akerson.
• Beddow added her name to the scoring sheet in the 52nd minute. The sophomore dribbled inside the box before ripping a shot to the right corner.Â
 • Sweigard scored her second goal of the afternoon a few minutes later. It was
Lauren Barnes who started the attack as her shot was kept out of the net by Bente Latenstein in the 57th minute. However, Sweigard was there to clean it up to make it a 5-0 lead.
• Knoedler put the finishing touches on her hat trick in the 63rd minute.
Maria Kilset played a perfect ball into the box for the transfer for the score.

Lizz Forshaw had the final goal in the 88th minute with
Anna Grady grabbing the assist. It was Forshaw's first goal of the season.
INSIDE THE BOXÂ SCORE
• Columbus State fired off 28 shots, including 11 on target. LMU (1-6-0) took four shots in each half.Â
• CSU held a sizable 15-1 margin in corner kicks.
• Sweigard posted a season-high seven shots, while Knoedler was efficient by scoring three goals on five shots.

Lizzie Hedrick and
Sara Halilhodzic ended the match with identical stat lines. Both goalkeepers played 45 minutes for the Cougars with both making a save.Â

• CSU tied a season-high with seven goals.
• Knoedler's hat trick was the 24th in CSU history and the second in eight days.
Sarah Hungerford scored three goals last week in Columbus State's 7-0 win at Clayton State University.
• The Cougars have won eight straight matches at home against non-conference opponents.
• Sweigard has scored in three straight matches, while Beddow has recorded a point in five straight.
• Beddow moved into a tie with Andrea Fernandez of Flagler College for the Peach Belt Conference goal lead with seven. Sweigard is third in the league with six.Â
• Forshaw became the 11th different Cougar to score in 2022.
• Akerson tallied her first career assist in the match.
