COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Columbus State University women's soccer team rolled past USC Aiken 9-1 on Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Walden Soccer Complex on homecoming and senior day. The Cougars improve to 10-3-1 (7-0-1 PBC) and the Pacers fall to 1-8-2 (0-7-2 PBC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Anna Grady scored two goals in the first minute and 22nd minute of the first half.
- Emma Beddow grabbed her first hat-trick of her career scoring three goals in the match. The first goal came in the 10th minute, second goal in the 21st minute, and third goal in the 58th minute.
- Kendal Coreil scored two goals in the 23rd minute and 87th minute of the match.
- Sarah Hungerford joined in scoring one goal in the 63rd minute.
- Lizz Forshaw scored a goal in the 70th minute as well.
- Sonya Villarreal scored the lone goal of the match for the Pacers in the 75th minute.
The Cougars outshot the Pacers 23-1 in the first half and 20-3 in the second. In goal for CSU, starter
Lizzie Hedrick tallied 1 save with zero goals allowed. In the second half,
Heidi Harris entered into the game as goalkeeper only allowing 1 goal and claiming 2 saves on the day.
