PEMBROKE, N.C. - The Columbus State University men's basketball team defeated Chowan University 88-84 Friday night to start the UNCP Give Thanks Tournament 1-0. With the win, the Cougars improve to 4-1 on the season.
Both teams were back-and-forth the entire game, but the Cougars outscored Chowan 43-42 in the first half, and led the way in the second scoring 45 points and holding the Hawks to 42 points.
Jarrett Adderton led CSU with 25 points and six rebounds and
Wisdom Uboh scored 22 points, grabbed six rebounds and recorded five assists.
Joshua Jerome also scored in the double-digits, tallying 14 points.

Columbus State will play UNC Pembroke on Sunday, Nov. 26 at 3 p.m. to wrap up the tournament.
